Work

A short professional overview, for anyone who wants the grounding behind the rest of the site.

I've spent twenty-five years in education and organizational learning, across K-12 leadership, adjunct teaching in higher education, and corporate learning and development. I've led teams, designed learning systems, and spent a lot of time in the place where a sound strategy meets the messy reality of getting people to change how they actually work.

My doctorate is in communities of practice: how people genuinely learn inside organizations. The short version of what I found is that people grow by doing real work alongside others, not by sitting through the programs built to develop them. Most of my career since has been spent somewhere in that gap.
